It is now slightly over 1 month to the 4th edition of the Nairobi Innovation Week. This event is expected showcase the next generation of inventive innovators and innovations. In fact, one of the sub-themes is “Kenya’s 15 Most Promising Startups in 2018”.
This year, the event will have extensive focus on the startup agenda and the organizing committee decided to create a new and exciting category primarily focusing on the startups. Like the name suggests, the most promising startups will be named and awarded up to Ksh. 1,000,000 recently announced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mbithi.
Once you register your startup, you will curate your profile with details about your startup for admission on the NIW.Startup 2018 program. You are allowed to register more than one startup on the website portal. Once registered, you will get view other startups profiles and what they are doing. We have partnered with a number of startup enablers within the ecosystem who are set to review the startup applications made for admission.
The most promising startups admitted to the NIW.Startup program will go through training in the months preceding the event and get to pitch to investors, potentially on national television. The investors at next year’s event include Angels, Foundations and VC Funds.
Your startup could be at an ideation stage, early stage or at a growth stage to get admitted at the NIW.Startups 2018 program.
Student innovators will not be left out either, the committee extends an invitation to register students as well. The student innovators will get to network with investors and and interact with established startups.
Select innovation hubs in ecosystem have partnered with us and will play a role in determining which startups will be named as the most promising.
