Biography

Christopher Fabian co-founded and co-leads UNICEF’s Innovation Unit. The Innovation Unit is an interdisciplinary team of individuals around the world tasked with identifying, prototyping, and scaling technologies and practices that strengthen UNICEF’s work for children.
The Unit under Christopher’s leadership has garnered global recognition, notably: Top 50 Innovations of 2011 from Time Magazine, and, in 2012, gold and silver IDSA awards, and a Redhat prize for being one of the three top open source projects, and recognition as one of the most innovative companies in the world by Fast Company in 2014.
Christopher has taught and lectured at NYU, the Art Center, Columbia University, Harvard University and IIT Delhi among other universities. He’s taught in Lebanon and launched start-ups in East Africa and Egypt.

He holds degrees in Philosophy from American University in Cairo, and in
His academic background is in Philosophy and Philosophy of Literature from the American University in Cairo, Media Studies from the New School (NY)
and Trinity College, Dublin

Christopher specializes in the confluence of media, technology, education, and communication and has been recognized as one of 100 most influential people, TIME Magazine (2013).
