Biography

Amollo Ambole is a passionate design researcher with expertise in product design, collaborative design and social innovation. She has a B.A and M.A in design from the University of Nairobi (UoN). In 2016, Amollo became a member of the Organizing Committee for Nairobi Innovation Week. For her PhD, Amollo was the recipient of the prestigious TRECCAfrica scholarship that sponsored her stay and studies at Stellenbosch University, South Africa from 2012 to 2016. Among her many accomplishments, Amollo became a World Social Science fellow in 2014, in an international fellowship programme organised by the International Social Science Council (ISSC) to recognize and support outstanding early career researchers. Her past working experiences include being: an assistant lecturer at Maseno University; an adjunct faculty at United States International University, Kenya; and a curriculum developer (design degree programme) for the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi. Amollo has published several academic papers and popular science articles, and participated in numerous international conferences and workshops. She enjoys painting and social dancing in her spare time.
