‎Communications, Media & Advocacy - ‎PATH

I am a creative and geek at heart. I am passionate about development, science, technology and innovation. I have a background in science communication and biomedical science. As a Science Communicator, I engage different audiences in all things research, evidence and data. Engaging people in research evidence enables them to have informed debates as opposed to discussions marred by myths, old wives tales or speculations. Science communication elevates discussions. I co-founded the Kenya Science Cafés, and was an executive radio producer for a university talk show DrWhat. In the last ten years, I have worked as a communication professional supporting diverse institutions - local and international research and Non-Governmental Organizations, Ministry, and Civil Society Organizations - develop communication strategies, activity work plan and budgets and implementation plans. I take pride in being a communicator, making connections and creating/exchanging ideas because I want to see progress happen. In development I find that a key requirement is two-way dialogue, communicating, talking to people about the problems and possible solutions; what is the latest data on a given situation and what do you need to do about it. Solutions are all around us, it’s how we use them to make progress that matters.
